Kenny U-Pull, a leading auto recycling company with 25 yards across Eastern Canada and USA, seeks an Accounting Analyst to join the Finance team in Laval. You will oversee comprehensive accounting functions, analyze financial data, and support month-end close and audits while ensuring regulatory compliance in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance required
• 5+ years in a similar accounting role
• Strong knowledge of assets accounting cycle and principles
• Experience with financial system migration
• Strong leadership and critical thinking skills
• Proficient in Excel & Outlook
• Knowledge of Maximo (IBM), D365, Odoo and Power BI a plus
• Fluency in French and English (spoken and written)

Responsabilidades

• Oversee Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost & Inventory accounting and Revenue recognition.
• Analyse financial data to identify trends and opportunities.
• Prepare journal entries and analyze variations in accounts and exchange rates.
• Maintain asset depreciation and continuity schedules across projects.
• Coordinate preparation of regulatory reporting and audits.
• Support month-end and year-end close and external audits.
• Analyse budget variances, Actuals and Forecasts per Region and Division.
• Ensure quality control over transactions and reporting.
• Manage local, state, and federal reporting requirements and sales tax filings.
• Develop and document accounting policies to strengthen internal controls.
• Perform ad hoc reporting as required by supervisor

Job Description

As an Accounting Analyst, you’ll report directly to the Accounting Supervisor and will be part of the Finance team of Kenny U-Pull.

What you’re responsible for:

• Oversee various accounting functions, including Billing, Accounts Receivable (A/R), Accounts Payable (A/P), General Ledger (GL), Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
• Analyse financial data to identify trends and opportunities.
• Prepare journal entries. Accounts, Financials and Exchange Rate analysis variations.
• Keep the work-in-progress assets (equipment & projects) records up to date, notably by collaborating with various teams (ex. construction, site operations, maintenance teams)
• Calculate asset depreciation & maintain the continuity schedules.
• Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting.
• Support month-end close, year-end close and External Audit processes
• Analyse divers Budget variations, Actuals and Forecasts per Region and per Division
• Ensure quality control over financial transactions and reporting.
• Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and sales tax filings.
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to strengthen internal controls.
• Perform any ad hoc reporting assigned by your supervisor

Qualifications

To join our team :

• Bachelor's degree in accounting and/or finance
• 5 + years of experience in a similar role
• Good knowledge of the assets accounting cycle and principles
• Experience with financial system migration.
• Proven leadership and critical thinking skills.
• Good knowledge of the Microsoft Excel & Outlook
• Knowledge of Maximo (IBM), D365, Odoo and Power BI (an asset).
• Analytical and problem-solving skills
• Attention to detail and thoroughness.
• Autonomy and sense of responsibility
• Ability to work under pressure and good organizational skills
• Fluent in French and English (spoken and written) necessary
