Job summary

SRS Distribution Inc. Calgary is seeking an Accountant to maintain the general ledger and assist with month-end close, audits, and reconciliations within a fast-paced building materials distribution unit.

You will support financial reporting, manage customer/vendor rebates, and ensure accurate postings across bank and GL records. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and 4–6 years of related experience, with strong Excel skills and a proactive, detail‑oriented mindset.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
• 4–6 years of related work experience.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills and knowledge of general accounting procedures.
• Ability to communicate professionally, both verbally and in writing, with coworkers and customers.

Responsibilities

• Review and process recurring journal entries monthly.
• Assist Controller with maintaining financial statements.
• Support month‑end closing and year‑end audits as needed.
• Process invoices and manage payments (EDI and manual).
• Reconcile month‑end working papers, bank reconciliations, and GLs.
• Maintain SOX documentation and compliance.
• Work with management and sales to resolve discrepancies.
• Meet month‑end and audit deadlines.
• Perform office administration tasks as needed.
