Job summary

Vaco in Calgary is seeking a Senior Accountant for a six-month contract with potential extension to support month-end close, reporting, and internal controls.

You will work with cross-functional and international finance teams, applying US GAAP, IFRS or ASPE, and ERP systems such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle or JD Edwards.

This is a hybrid role with three days on-site in downtown Calgary; candidates must reside in the Calgary area and be eligible to work in Canada.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of progressive accounting experience in corporate or public practice.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS or ASPE.
• Hands-on experience with month-end close, GL, reconciliations and financial reporting.
• ERP experience with NetSuite, SAP, Oracle or JD Edwards.
• Experience in SaaS, technology or professional services is a plus.
• Experience in international or multi-entity organizations is a plus.

About You

• 3-5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in a corporate accounting or public practice environment.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge, including US GAAP, IFRS or ASPE.
• Hands-on experience with a major ERP system such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle or JD Edwards.
• Proven experience with month-end close, general ledger accounting, reconciliations and financial reporting.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a collaborative approach.
• Experience in the SaaS, technology or professional services industries is an asset.
• Direct experience with NetSuite is an asset.
