Qualifications

• Awareness of GAAP, Canadian Public Sector Accounting Standards and IFRS.
• Exposure to financial accounting and analytical projects is an asset.
• Intermediate-to-advanced Microsoft Office Skills (Excel, PowerBI, Word, and PowerPoint).
• Self-driven with a high degree of intellectual curiosity and a passion for continuous learning.
• Demonstrated time-management skills and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Track record of academic success while balancing extracurricular activities.
• Team-oriented with effective and timely communication.
• Previous AIMCo or financial institution experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Learn day-to-day operations of each group and complete scheduled reports.
• Gain experience using Excel, SQL, Power BI, Aladdin by BlackRock, and SimCorp Dimensions (SCD).
• Ensure GAAP and IFRS are adhered to across the organization.
• Identify efficiencies and implement process changes with team support.
• Responsibilities may increase through each rotation stream.

Opportunity

You will also a broader understanding of how teams across AIMCo work together while progression towards your CPA designation.

Opportunity

This 30-month rotational accounting program will start in May 2027. As you complete your CPA Professional Program and pursue your CPA designation, you and your managers will focus on completing CPA tasks statements in key development areas and will receive support and assistance from your team and mentors.

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will evolve as you proceed through your rotations. You will learn the day-to-day operations of each group, complete scheduled reports, and gain experience using Excel, Structured Query Language (SQL), Power BI, Aladdin by BlackRock, and SimCorp Dimensions (SCD). You will learn to ensure Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) are being adhered to across the organization. You will learn how we apply these standards on prescribed basis of accounting for our clients who report using different accounting frameworks.

As your knowledge and experience grow, you will work on more ad hoc requests and be expected to identify efficiencies and implement process changes with the support of your team members. As you develop trust and exhibit a high attention to detail, your responsibilities may increase throughout each rotation stream.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications

• Completed required undergraduate education or equivalent work experience to be eligible to register for CPA Professional Program when employment begins.
• Awareness of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Canadian Public Sector Accounting Standards and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
• Exposure to financial accounting and analytical projects is an asset.
• Intermediate-to-advanced Microsoft Office Skills (Excel, PowerBI, Word, and PowerPoint).
