Job summary

Flair Airlines is seeking a skilled Accountant to join our Edmonton Finance team. You’ll support month-end and year-end close, prepare reconciliations, journal entries, and variances, and assist with IFRS 16 lease accounting and asset management.

This role offers exposure to audits, internal controls, and process improvements within a fast‑paced airline environment. The ideal candidate has 3–6 years of accounting experience, a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, and progress toward CPA designation,

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or related field.
CPA progression is strongly preferred.
Minimum 3–6 years progressive accounting experience.

Responsibilities

Support month-end and year-end close activities.
Prepare account reconciliations, supporting schedules, and working papers.
Assist IFRS 16 lease accounting and fixed asset accounting.
Review financial transactions for correct general ledger coding and intercompany eliminations.
Prepare journal entries for accruals, prepaids, reclassifications, and adjustments.
Support internal financial statements, variance analysis, and commentary.
Assist audits with documentation and responses to inquiries.
Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies.
