This position reports into the Senior Manager, Cost & Inventory.
What you will do :
- Prepare reports to support allocation of month-end inventory costs across SAP plants and products.
- Post monthly journal entries and ensure accurate reporting for SAP plant costs.
- Coordinate SAP Terminal Inventory Reconciliations (SoX control) as well as Oracle Terminal Inventory tracking.
- Enter required bottoming adjustments and shrinks / overages to keep system inventory levels accurate.
- Provide support and act as a point of contact with the SAP plant accountants.
- Reconcile various balance sheet accounts and provide quarterly variance analysis.
- Ensure SOX compliance and provide recommendations to senior management on developing controls.
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations using the Blackline reconciliation tool.
- Understand existing accounting processes and develop ongoing process changes to increase efficiency.
- Verify, maintain, and troubleshoot issues within the HANA database tool.
- Post journal entries as required to ensure accurate Freight and T&D (FT&D) reporting.
- Maintain indirect FT&D cost allocation rates and ensure the related prepaid assets are accurate through various analyses.
- Collaborate with various departments to lead and execute ongoing process improvement initiatives and assist with identifying new areas for improvement.
- Execute system testing for software upgrades and enhancements.
- Aid with ad hoc queries requested by senior management or other departments.
What you will bring :
- Accounting post-secondary degree with the intent of attaining CPA designation.
- 2+ years of relevant experience.
- Knowledge of cost accounting is preferred.
- Experience with Oracle, MSS, SAP, S4, BPC is considered an asset.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to think strategically and execute confidently and swiftly.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, projects, stakeholder interests, and deadlines.
- High attention to detail.
- Superior problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications, especially Excel (Pivot tables, PowerQuery).
