Job summary

Anthem Properties Group in Calgary seeks a high-performing accountant to own full-cycle accounting for our Housebuilding communities. You’ll partner with operations and finance to bring clarity to complex, fast-moving projects and deliver timely financial insights.

You have 3+ years of accounting experience, CPA near completion, advanced Excel, and familiarity with tools like NewStar, InformXL, Power BI or Yardi. This role offers growth and robust benefits.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in project or real estate/housebuilding.
• CPA designation or nearing completion.
• Advanced Excel skills; familiarity with financial reporting and analysis.
• Experience with budgeting and variance analysis.

Responsibilities

• Own full-cycle accounting for a portfolio of Housebuilding communities.
• Deliver monthly variance analysis (actual vs budget/forecast) with actionable insights.
• Prepare month-end, quarter and year-end financial reporting packages.
• Support forecasting and annual budgeting for communities.
• Analyze job-level costs, identify trends, and flag risks early.
• Support cash flow forecasts and proformas; collaborate with project teams.
• Assist year-end audit/review processes.
• Collaborate with operations, finance and corporate teams; drive process improvements.
• Provide ad hoc analysis to Housebuilding Accounting Manager/Director.

We’re looking for a high-performing accountant to support our Housebuilding division, someone who can own their portfolio, partner with operations, and bring clarity to complex, fast-moving projects.

You are

You will

• Own full-cycle accounting for an assigned portfolio of communities within the Housebuilding division
• Deliver monthly variance analysis (actual vs. budget/forecast), with clear, actionable insights
• Prepare month-end (and quarter/year-end) financial reporting packages, including financial statements, management reporting, and supporting schedules
• Support forecasting and annual budgeting for your communities
• Analyze job-level costs, identify trends, and flag risks or inconsistencies early
• Support community cash flow forecasts and proformas; collaborate with project teams to align on key assumptions
• Support year-end audit/review processes
• Partner with internal stakeholders (operations, finance, and corporate teams) to fulfill information requests and contribute to process and system improvements
• Provide ad hoc analysis and support to the Housebuilding Accounting Manager/Director as required

You have

• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience (project or real estate/housebuilding experience is a strong asset)
• CPA designation (or near completion)
• Advanced Excel skills; experience with tools such as NewStar, InformXL, Power BI, or Yardi is an asset
• Strong financial analysis, budgeting, and reporting experience
• Proven ability to work on multiple projects and thrive in a team environment
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• A proactive mindset, you take ownership and follow through

• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across teams
