Job description

We are currently looking for an Accountant/Accounts Technician to join the finance team.

As a growing company, we are looking to expand our finance team. This role is on a full-time basis.

Your New Role

1. Assist with the preparation of financial statements and reports.
2. Manage a portfolio of entities within the group.
3. Manage a junior member of staff.
4. Liaise with internal & external auditors.
5. Process invoices, payments, and receipts accurately and promptly.
6. Reconcile bank statements and manage petty cash transactions.
7. Support the month-end and year-end closing processes.
8. Perform balance sheet reconciliations and other control procedures.
9. Review & prepare VAT returns.
10. Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
11. Assist with payroll processing and employee expense claims.
12. Provide administrative support to the finance team as needed.

Skills

1. Proven experience as an Accounts Assistant or similar role.
2. Must have completed exams or be partway through exams such as Accounts Technician, ACCA, or ACA.
3. Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel; experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) is a plus.
4. Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
5. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
6. Good communication skills and a professional attitude.
7. Relevant qualifications in accounting or finance are desirable.
8. Experience working with Sage, Procure Wizard is advantageous.
