Qualifications

• Diploma, degree, or coursework in Accounting, Business, Commerce, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA designation completed, in progress, or interest in pursuing the CPA program in the future.
• Experience with accounting software and client service is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare compilation and review engagement files.
• Prepare financial statements and supporting working papers.
• Prepare personal, corporate, trust, and other tax returns.
• Assist clients with bookkeeping, GST, payroll, and other compliance requirements.
• Communicate directly with clients to obtain information and answer questions.
• Liaise with CRA and other government agencies on behalf of clients.
• Support tax planning, reorganizations, and special projects.
• Participate in client meetings and advisory engagements.
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to process improvements.

Wiber Bouchard & Company LLP (WB&C) is a well-established CPA firm located in Whistler, BC. We provide accounting, tax, and advisory services to owner-managed businesses, professionals, and individuals throughout British Columbia.

We're looking for an Accountant to join our team.

What You'll Do

Responsibilities will vary depending on your experience and may include:

• Preparing compilation and review engagement files


• Preparing financial statements and supporting working papers

• Liaising with the Canada Revenue Agency and other government agencies on behalf of clients


• Supporting tax planning, reorganizations, and special projects


• Participating in client meetings and advisory engagements


• Reviewing work and mentoring junior team members (for more experienced candidates)


• Contributing to process improvements and the continued growth of the firm

What We're Looking For

Qualifications may include:

• Diploma, degree, or coursework in Accounting, Business, Commerce, Finance, or a related field


• CPA designation completed, in progress, or an interest in pursuing the CPA program in the future


• Accounting, bookkeeping, finance, administration, or other relevant business experience


• Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, CaseWare, Taxprep, or similar applications is an asset


• Strong organizational and time-management skills


• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills


• Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment
