Base pay range

CA$75,000.00/yr - CA$125,000.00/yr

Position Summary

The HoneyBadger Team is looking for an Accountant to join our high-performing team of professionals. We are looking for like-minded individuals who display grit, integrity, hard work, and an ability to think outside the box.

This is a full time, fully onsite position out of our downtown Vancouver office. The successful candidate will support our existing team of accountants, three of which are designated CPAs. Our new team member must be a seasoned bookkeeper able to assist with day-to-day financial operations with minimal supervision and will be responsible for assisting with preparation of financial statements and maintaining accurate records.

Must be able to multitask, take both initiative & direction, and have a strong understanding of accounting principles. Adaptability is key – you must have the ability to problem solve and think on your feet. We are looking for someone highly motivated and detail oriented professional with a passion for accounting and bookkeeping.

Position Responsibilities

• Record day-to-day financial transactions and prepare financial reports.

• Update accounts payable and receivable.

• Evaluate processes and financial data and recommend improvements.

• Prepare and review budget, revenue, invoices, and other accounting documents.

• Reconcile bank statements and accounts.

• Perform month/year-end close procedures.

• Maintain general ledger accounts, working papers, and prepare journal entries.

• Assist with audits, financial reviews, and tax returns.

• Assist with payroll processing and reviewing employee expenses.

Skills & Qualifications

• Degree in accounting, finance, or relevant certification.

• Proven experience in accounting or bookkeeping.

• Solid understanding of accounting principles and practices.

• Hands on experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks Online, proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel and Google Sheets.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

• Able to meet strict deadlines and prioritize workload.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
