Base pay range

CA$80,000.00/yr - CA$85,000.00/yr

Our client requires an Accountant to join their team. This role is remote-first with occasional travel required to Bracebridge.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee revenue recognition, ensuring accurate and timely recording of revenue from point-of-sale (POS) systems
  • Perform cash reconciliations and monitor daily cash activity across locations or departments
  • Complete bank reconciliations and ensure alignment with general ledger balances
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly, investigating and resolving discrepancies
  • Prepare journal entries and assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures
  • Maintain organized and accurate financial records and documentation
  • Prepare monthly financial statements and supporting schedules, ensuring accuracy and completeness
  • Calculate and remit monthly HST payments and ensure compliance with tax regulations
  • Annually reconcile WSIB and EHT, ensuring accurate reporting and submission
  • Support budgeting and forecasting activities as needed
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including auditors, tax advisors, and department heads
  • Identify and implement process improvements to strengthen internal controls and increase efficiency

Qualifications:

• Diploma or Degree in Accounting (required)

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience (required)

• Strong knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles

• Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel

• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills

• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Assets (Not Required):

• Experience with QuickBooks

• Experience in a multi-entity accounting environment
