Responsibilities

  • Ensure all month-end duties and reporting are completed timely and accurately.
  • Record all business transactions, process accruals and adjustments, reconcile accounts.
  • Maintain year-end working papers and assist with audits or reviews.
  • Collect, interpret, and report on financial data.
  • Post adjusting journal entries to correct errors.
  • Prepare bank reconciliations.
  • Perform expense analysis of major accounts.
  • Approve EFT payments for timely invoice payment.
  • Maintain an audit-ready trail of supporting documentation.
  • Contribute to ad-hoc projects as assigned.

Job Summary

The Accountant, under the direction of the Controller, will assist in the timely and accurate preparation of the monthly financial reporting package. This role will also record business transactions, process accruals and adjustments and reconcile accounts. The Accountant must possess a degree or diploma in business, finance, accounting, or a related field and can analyse and present numerical data in tables, spreadsheets, and forms.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with the daily functions of the Finance team by preparing general ledger journal entries, generating financial reports, and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Ensure all month-end financial duties and resulting financial reporting is completed in a timely and accurate manner
  • Record all business transactions, process accruals and adjustments, reconcile accounts
  • Maintain year-end working papers and spreadsheets, and assist with preparation for any internal or external audits or independent reviews being conducted
  • Collect, interpret, and report on financial data
  • Correct errors by posting adjusting journal entries.
  • Prepare bank reconciliations
  • Perform expense analysis of major accounts
  • Approve EFT payments for timely payment of invoices
  • Maintain an accurate and complete trail of supporting documentation for all activities
