Job summary

Trooh is seeking an Accountant to join a growing finance team and bring accuracy, insight, and a solutions-focused mindset. You will support revenue operations, accounts payable, month-end close, reporting, and process improvement using Excel, business software, and AI-enabled technologies to enhance efficiency and deliver meaningful financial insights.

The role reports to the Controller/VP of Finance and offers a path for a detail-oriented accounting professional comfortable with data-driven

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of accounting or finance experience; CPA designation or active pursuit is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, internal controls, month-end close, reconciliations, AP, AR, billing, and financial reporting.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, lookups, data validation, reconciliations, reporting templates, and analysis of large data sets.

Responsibilities

  • Manage full accounts payable process: invoice review, coding, approvals, vendor inquiries, payment runs, reconciliations.
  • Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, balance sheet schedules, accruals, prepaid expenses, and fixed assets support; assist with month-end close and financial reporting.
  • Use Excel, Power Query, reporting tools, and AI-enabled technologies to streamline reporting, reconciliations, invoice processing, and month-end workflows; partner with Finance, Sales, and IT to improve systems and data integrity.

Job description

Trooh is looking for an Accountant who can bring accuracy, insight, and a solutions-focused mindset to a growing finance team. In this role, you will support revenue operations, accounts payable, month-end close, reporting, and process improvement while helping strengthen the systems and data that drive better business decisions. Reporting to the Controller/VP of Finance, this is a great opportunity for a detail-oriented accounting professional who is comfortable working with Excel, business software, reporting tools, and AI-enabled technology to improve efficiency and deliver meaningful financial insights.

Salary Range: CAD $60,000 - $75,000 per year

Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable
  • Manage the full accounts payable process, including invoice review, coding, approvals, vendor inquiries, payment runs, and reconciliations.
  • Maintain vendor records, monitor AP aging, investigate discrepancies, and ensure compliance with internal controls.
General Accounting & Month-End Close
  • Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, balance sheet schedules, accruals, prepaid expense schedules, and fixed asset support.
  • Assist with month-end close, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, audit support, and ad hoc financial analysis.
Reporting & Automation
  • Use Excel, Power Query, reporting tools, and approved AI-enabled technologies to streamline reporting, reconciliations, invoice processing, and month-end workflows.
  • Partner with Finance, Sales, and IT to improve systems, document procedures, strengthen data integrity, and support automation or process improvement initiatives.
What We’re Looking For
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, internal controls, month-end close, reconciliations, AP, AR, billing, and financial reporting.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, lookups, data validation, reconciliations, reporting templates, and analysis of large data sets.
  • Experience with accounting, ERP, billing, CRM, and reporting systems such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Dynamics, SAP, Oracle, Boostr, Salesforce, or similar tools.
  • Comfort learning new computer programs and using technology to improve workflows, reporting accuracy, and team efficiency.
  • Experience with Power Query, Power BI, SQL, VBA, Python, automation tools, or AI-enabled productivity/reporting tools is an asset.
Qualifications
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in financial data and reporting.
  • Proactive, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across Finance, Sales, IT, and other departments.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to turn data into actionable insights and recommendations.
