Job summary

BinSentry is seeking an Accountant who thrives in an agile environment and is eager to learn full-cycle accounting. This hands-on role offers growth potential as you build scalable processes and take ownership of key functions within a fast-growing ag-tech company.

You will support GL accounts, assist with month-end close, and collaborate with Operations, Sales, and Development. NetSuite experience and CPA-path progress are a plus.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 0–2 years accounting experience (Co-op/internship counts).
  • Working towards CPA designation.
  • Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs).
  • Strong analytical/attention to detail with tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Support general ledger accounts including deferred revenue, inventory, and COGS.
  • Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and assist with variance analysis.
  • Prepare schedules for external auditors and respond to requests.
  • Document processes and suggest improvements to accounting systems and controls.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Sales, and Development.
  • Process vendor bills and manage customer billing and master data in NetSuite.

The Role

BinSentry is seeking an Accountant who thrives in an agile environment and is eager to learn full-cycle accounting and help build scalable processes. This is a hands-on role with significant growth potential, ideal for someone who is ready to build their skills, grow into ownership of key accounting functions, and make an impact.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accounts & Allocations: Support general ledger accounts including deferred revenue, inventory, and COGS.
  • Month-End Close: Preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and assist with variance analysis.
  • Audit Support: Prepare supporting schedules and respond to external auditor requests to ensure a smooth and efficient audit process.
  • Process Improvement: Document current processes and suggest improvements to accounting processes, systems, and controls to enhance efficiency and accuracy as the company scales.
  • Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with other departments, including Operations, Sales, and Development.
  • Day-to-Day Accounting: Process vendor bills, and manage customer billing and master data in NetSuite.
What Success Looks Like

In your first year you will:

  • Own an assigned set of month-end close tasks, delivering clean, accurate reconciliation on time each month.
  • Establish strong working relationships across Operations, Sales, and Development to provide actionable accurate reporting and analysis, and operational alignment.
  • Learn and document core accounting processes and suggest improvements as BinSentry grows.
Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 0-2 years of accounting experience (Co-op and internship experience count).
  • Working towards your CPA designation.
  • Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.) is a must.
  • Ability to demonstrate logic and analytical skills to identify and solve problems.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to perform under tight timelines with competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred
  • Experience with NetSuite is a plus.
  • Co-op or internship experience with month-end close, reconciliations, or audit support.
