Job summary

Boundary Electric Ltd. is seeking an Accountant to maintain accurate financial records, manage reconciliations, tax filings, and month-end reporting.

The role requires attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to juggle multiple priorities within a dynamic environment. You will collaborate with the Finance team to ensure data integrity, support audits, and contribute to the day-to-day accounting functions while upholding company policies and internal controls in a ISO 9001:2015

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace.
• Understanding of cost accounting, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
• Proficient in accounting software with the ability to quickly adapt to new technologies.
• Strong organizational and time management abilities.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to perform multiple tasks with minimal supervision while prioritizing work to meet deadlines.
• Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Understanding of accounting principles and practices.
• Preference for degree/certificate/diploma in accounting/finance.
• Working toward CPA preferred.
• 4-7 years of accounting experience.
• Availability to work full-time.

Responsibilities

• Tax & Compliance: Prepare GST, PST and other tax filings and ensure adherence to standards and controls.
• Month-End & Journal Entries: Support month-end close with accruals, prepayments, adjustments, and asset bookkeeping; reconcile accounts.
• Accounts Payable & Receivable: Approve and code AP, process vendor payments, and monitor AR collections.
• Team Support & Development: Assist audits, year-end preparations, and special projects.
• Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Job Summary:

The Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate and timely financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting key financial processes such as reconciliations, tax filings, and month-end reporting. This role requires strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment. The Accountant will work closely with the Finance team to uphold the integrity of financial data and contribute to the smooth operation of day-to-day accounting functions.

All Boundary Electric employees are expected to follow company guidelines and principles and maintain alignment with the company’s strategic intent.

Key Responsibilities

• Tax & Compliance
  Prepare GST, PST, and other tax filings.
  Ensure compliance with accounting standards, procedures, and internal controls.
• Month-End & Journal Entries
  Support month-end close by preparing journal entries (accruals, prepayments, adjustments, fixed assets).
  Reconcile accounts and ensure accurate cutoff.
• Accounts Payable & Receivable
  Oversee approval and coding of AP invoices and employee expense reports.
  Process vendor EFT and credit card payments.
  Act as primary contact for vendor payment inquiries.
  Reconcile vendor statements.
  Review AR aging reports and follow up with customers on payments.
  Receive and record payments, reconcile to bank account.
• Team Support & Development
  Support Finance team in audits, year-end preparations, and special projects.
• Other
  Other duties may be assigned as needed.
