Job summary

OEG Inc. in Edmonton is seeking an accounting professional to support DAK Capital and its subsidiaries with full cycle accounting, journal entries, GL reconciliations, and month-end close processes.

The role also handles accounts payable processing, investment statement entries, GST filings, and consolidation schedules, requiring accuracy, independence and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma in Accounting is required.
  • Minimum 1-2 years in accounting or related field.
  • CPA designation considered an asset.
  • Proficiency in Excel, QuickBooks, Caseware and Prophix is an asset.
  • Experience with accounts payable processing and accrual accounting is an asset.
  • Effective communication and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

  • Post journal entries and perform general ledger reconciliations.
  • Prepare month-end working papers and conduct reconciliations.
  • Receive and enter accounts payable invoices.
  • Enter monthly investment statements and prepare reconciliations.
  • Assist with GST returns and consolidation schedules for group companies.
  • Support other duties as required.

Job description

About the Role:

Reporting directly to the Controller, this position will assist with the full cycle accounting process for DAK Capital and subsidiary companies. In addition, they will be responsible for assisting with the full cycle accounts payable activities to ensure accuracy and timeliness of invoice creating and entry, providing detailed analysis, explanation and documentation.

Your Focus in this Role:
  • Responsible for posting journal entries, preparing general ledger reconciliation and month end working papers
  • Responsible for receiving and entering accounts payable invoices
  • Responsible for entering monthly investment statements and preparing associated reconciliations
  • Assist with the preparation and filing of monthly GST returns
  • Assist with the preparation of quarterly and year end consolidation schedules for DAK Capital and subsidiary companies
  • Other duties as required

Education, Experience andSkills:
