Job summary

Suncor Energy Inc. in Calgary is seeking an experienced accounting professional to lead finance and accounting services, drive continuous improvement, and mentor junior team members.

You will plan and execute a range of accounting assignments, resolve issues, provide analyses to support business decisions, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance financial reporting and decision-making. The role requires CPA, 5-7 years of experience, and proficiency in Excel and SAP; Suncor offers

Qualifications

• University degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related field.
• CPA designation is required.
• 5-7 years of relevant accounting or finance experience.
• 2 years of oil and gas industry experience is an asset.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Working knowledge of SAP.

• Lead the delivery of finance and accounting services and drive continuous improvement.
• Plan, coordinate, and execute a range of accounting assignments, including complex projects.

Minimum Requirements

• University degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• Chartered Professional Accountant designation.
• 5-7 years of relevant accounting or finance experience.
• 2 years of oil and gas industry experience would be considered an asset.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Working knowledge of systems such as SAP.

Location and other Key details

The position will be based at the Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Center at 150 – 6th Ave S.W Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday with the potential for extended work hours based on business needs.
