Job summary

Manulife is seeking an Account Manager in Canada (remote) to analyze, underwrite and recommend loan and line of credit approvals within our service standards, with solid justification and clear communication to advisors.

As part of the Specialized Retail Lending team, you will review financial statements, process complex loans up to $1,000,000, ensure risk/compliance, and deliver superior service to advisors and clients in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of lending experience.
  • Strong PC skills with MS Office.
  • Excellent time management and attention to detail.
  • Sound problem solving and negotiation abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and interpret financial statements to underwrite loan applications.
  • Review and approve loan transactions up to $1,000,000 within policy.
  • Recommend for approval more complex loans exceeding $1,000,000.
  • Process of more complex new loan applications per Bank policies.
  • Prioritize daily work and meet SLA targets.
  • Adjudicate security requirements on existing portfolios.
  • Review loans for repayment history and documentation.
  • Adhere to risk/audit/compliance requirements.
  • Process a high volume of applications efficiently.
  • Provide superior service to Advisors and Clients.

Job description

Utilizing strong customer services skill this role is accountable to our clients to analyze, underwrite and recommend approval loan/ line of credit applications within our services standards, with solid justification. The account manager is also responsible for communicating loan decisions and requirements to advisors while maintaining high customer service skills. The role also involves responding to inquiries submitted by clients, financial advisors and staff by either phone or email.

The Specialized Retail Lending department is currently looking for a dynamic individual to joint their team as Account Manager

Position Responsibilities
  • Analyze and interpret financial statements (personal and corporate) and other documents related to the underwriting of loan applications

  • Review and approve within DLA, loan transactions up to $1,000,000

  • Recommend for approval more complex loan transactions that exceed $1,000,000

  • Processing of more complex new loan applications in accordance with Bank policies and procedures

  • Prioritization of daily work

  • Adjudicate security requirements on existing loan portfolio

  • Review loans for satisfactory repayment history, correct and continued security documentation and status

  • Adherence to risk/ audit / compliance requirements

  • Has the ability to process a high volume of applications

  • Meet and exceed defined service level agreements and engage Manager if SLA's are not met

  • Provides superior customer service to Advisors and Clients

Required Qualifications
  • Team oriented with a positive attitude

  • 3-5 years of lending experience

  • Excellent PC skills including Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint

  • Good conflict resolution skills

  • Sound problem solving skills and strong negotiation and influencing skills

  • Excellent time management skills, and ability to organize, multi-task

  • High accuracy skills with a strong attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications
  • Excellent knowledge of Banking policies, procedures and products

  • Strong knowledge of banking industry

  • Strong knowledge of banking systems

  • Sound knowledge of insurance and investment-based products

  • Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset. If the successful candidate is in Québec, proficiency in both languages will be required to support clients from various provinces outside of Quebec.
