Job summary

ADM in Vanscoy, SK or North Battleford, SK, is seeking an Account Manager to procure pulses, grains and oilseeds, build producer relationships, and manage logistics to ADM assets. The role requires strategic thinking, market knowledge, and experience in origination and trading networks.

You will develop market insights, calculate margins, and coordinate transportation while working with a cross-functional team to optimize financial results. Flex work may be available per policy.

Responsibilities

  • Builds and fosters relationships for domestic procurement of pulses, grains and oilseeds tributary to the ADM network.
  • Manages commodity risk and oversees transportation logistics from origin to destination markets to maximize revenue.
  • Maintains an up to date knowledge of market trends and competitor activities, revising marketing strategies and programs to capitalize on opportunities.
  • As part of a team, creates and manages the implementation of marketing strategies to originate grain for our North American and international processing and trading networks.
  • Aids in analyzing potential key supplier opportunities within domestic channels.
  • Develops key communication links within the company to ensure optimal use of ADM market access.
  • Assists in streamlining logistics to maximize efficiency of our Canadian team.
  • Promote ADM as a strong partner and employer in the local community

About The Position

Reporting to the Commercial Manager, this is an intermediate level position which is part of the commercial/origination team. This position will be accountable for the procurement of raw materials, including Pulses, Special Crops and Oilseeds to achieve optimum financial results. Account Managers at ADM are a vital component in our supply chain. Individuals in these dynamic roles have responsibility for the procurement of grain and oilseeds, to achieve optimum financial results. Account Managers are asked to develop an understanding of local area markets, calculate business margins and their effect on commodity pricing, and manage local bids and offers among many other topics. Additionally, in their roles Account Managers, are responsible for building producer relationships, and coordinating transportation and logistics from the farm gate to ADM assets. As an intermediate member of the team, this position requires a higher level of strategic thinking, market knowledge and employee development than an entry-level position.

What We Do at This Location:
  • Primary Office Location: Vanscoy, SK or North Battleford SK.
  • This position will sit in Vanscoy or North Battleford, SK – Flex work is allowable at times as per company policy.
  • Regional Description: Ag Services & Oilseeds – Grain/Pulse Origination
  • The region contains Oilseed processing, Pulses processing, Fertilizer depots, Rail terminals, and Truck elevators.
  • Typical hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. (non-harvest season). Additional hours & some weekends are expected during peak harvest season
  • Exhibit personal time management each day making outbound calls on customer list.
  • Colleagues in the location are a mix of operations, commercial trading, logistics and origination/settlements. The team managed the commodity supply chains from the producer to customers around the globe.
