Job description

mdf commerce Inc. is an international team of approximately 650 experts that develops a broad set of SaaS solutions to optimize and accelerate the commercial interactions of its B2B and B2G customers.

We seek a Strategic Account Manager to join our BidNet team under the SOVRA brand and support our GovTech sector. This role is focused on managing and growing strategic relationships within the public sector. You will drive client satisfaction, revenue retention, and account growth through strategic engagement, commercial acumen, and value delivery.

What will your primary responsibilities look like?

Revenue Retention & Renewal:

  • Own the customer lifecycle, focusing on renewals, retention, and long-term value realization.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate churn risks through strategic engagement and value delivery.

Account Growth & Expansion

  • Identify and pursue upsell and cross-sell opportunities within your book of business.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to scope and propose tailored solutions that meet evolving client needs.

Value Consulting & ROI Demonstration:

  • Act as a trusted advisor by understanding client goals and aligning our solutions to deliver measurable ROI.
  • Lead executive business reviews and present performance metrics and value outcomes.

Client Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strong, multi-level relationships with key decision-makers and influencers.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for strategic clients, ensuring satisfaction, advocacy, and long-term partnership.

Commercial Strategy & Negotiation:

  • Lead commercial discussions, including contract renewals, pricing negotiations, and SOW development.
  • Partner with legal and finance teams to ensure alignment on terms and compliance.

Strategic Account Planning

  • Develop, maintain, and execute strategic account plans aligned with client goals and business objectives.
  • Conduct regular business reviews and present performance metrics, ROI outcomes, and strategic recommendations.

Cross-functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with Product, Services, and Sales to ensure seamless delivery and support.
  • Provide feedback to internal teams to influence the product roadmap and service enhancements.

Desired profile:

  • Proven success in strategic account management, customer success, or enterprise sales roles.
  • Strong negotiation and presentation skills, with the ability to influence executive stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive revenue growth through renewals and upsell strategies.
  • Deep understanding of value-based selling and ROI modelling.
  • Excellent communication skills—both verbal and written.
  • Comfortable navigating complex organizations and managing multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience in SaaS, GovTech, or procurement platforms is a strong asset.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 5+ years in strategic account management, customer success, or enterprise sales—preferably in SaaS, GovTech, or procurement platforms.
  • Proven success in driving revenue growth through renewals and upselling strategies.
  • Strong negotiation and presentation skills with the ability to influence executive stakeholders.
  • Deep understanding of value-based selling and ROI modelling.
  • Excellent communication skills—both verbal and written.
  • Comfortable navigating complex organizations and managing multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience with CRM and customer success platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Gainsight) is a plus.
  • Please note that this position requires approximately 30% travel across Canada and the United States.
  • Required: Authorized to work in the US – unfortunately, we cannot sponsor work visas or transfers now.
