About The Account Executive Role
Float is looking for an exceptional Account Executive to join our growing sales team. You will play a pivotal role in driving revenue at Float as we move up market. We are looking for someone who has proven and exceptional impact driving revenue in past sales roles and is eager to employ a consultative, cooperative, and solution-oriented strategy, blending strategic insight with highly efficient execution.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
- Use a consultative sales approach to guide customers through the sales process, from initial contact to close. Focus on adding value and providing strategic advice rather than just selling products or services.
- Acquire and form relationships with new customers in the SMB range with 20-200 employees.
- You’ll pursue both individual and team sales goals and consistently hit your monthly targets.
- Prioritize and maintain pipelines while owning the sales cycle from start to finish - from discovery to demo to negotiation to close.
- Approach all deals with a customer-obsessed mentality. Develop relationships and uncover the needs of multiple key stakeholders to find value moments.
- Be the voice of the customer and work closely with our Marketing, Product, and Customer Success teams to ensure a cohesive and integrated customer experience. Provide feedback from the market to drive product innovation and improvement.
- Share your ideas and help us build a world class Sales team!
- Work with the Finance teams of some of the fastest growing companies in Canada across a variety of industries.
About You
- You Put Customers First, Always. You care deeply about delivering meaningful value. Whether you're building internal systems or customer-facing features, you're always thinking about how to make life better for our users.
- You Act Like an Owner. You take responsibility for outcomes, step up to challenges, and seek solutions proactively—doing what’s best for the business, not just your role.
- You Think Big and Move Fast. You’re energized by building from 0 to 1. You’re not afraid to challenge the status quo, experiment quickly, and learn as you go.
- You Constantly Learn and Grow. You’re hungry to improve your craft and open to feedback. You bring a growth mindset to everything you do.
- You Raise the Bar. You care about doing things well and efficiently. You balance speed with rigor and always look for ways to improve how we work.
- You Win as a Team. You’re a generous collaborator who values communication, context, and shared wins. You lift others up and help make the team stronger.
In addition to living our values...
- You’ve got the experience. To be successful in this role, we’re looking for at least 2 years of B2B tech-sales experience, ideally in a high-growth start up environment. You should also have experience in sales cycles with SMBs.
- You’ve got an understanding of the market. You’ve worked with accounting/finance related products, or have worked closely with finance leaders. You’re commercially minded, business savvy and no stranger to an ROI mindset.
- You’re results-driven. You have a reputation for exceeding your goals and sales targets, and are motivated by new challenges. You’re willing to make tough decisions to achieve broader business goals and outcomes.
- You're an outstanding communicator. You know how to cater your communication to your audience to gain buy-in, and build commitment with customers. When pitching ideas, you are confident, clear, and organized in your delivery. You have impeccable writing and speaking skills, and can effortlessly connect with any team in an organization.
- You’re empathetic and approachable. You quickly build rapport and credibility with prospective customers, and people are naturally drawn to you. You are a skilled listener who is able to understand and synthesize diverse perspectives and opinions. You’re customer obsessed; translating customer needs into product offerings is your speciality.
- You’re adaptable and resilient. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, move quickly, and know how to pivot when faced with objections. Finding creative ways to problem solve and work through obstacles is fun for you. You also know when to slow down and be strategic and thoughtful.
This may not be the role for you if…
- You're not driven by the vision of building Canada's top business finance platform
- You prefer predictable routines over the dynamic, independent nature of startup culture
- You aren't comfortable working independently, remotely, or asynchronously
- You aren’t a team player
- Resilience and openness to direct feedback aren't your strengths
- You aren’t comfortable taking calculated risks
- You have an ego
