Job description

About Us

SABRE and Boundary Electric operate as one commercial organization, delivering electrical infrastructure solutions to some of North America's most demanding and technically complex projects.

SABRE is a vendor-neutral electrical and instrumentation integrator, providing end-to-end solutions across medium- and low-voltage switchgear, motor control centres (MCCs), custom control and instrumentation panels, E-Houses, power distribution centres, skids, and mobile substations. Our capabilities span engineering and design, manufacturing, factory testing, installation, commissioning, and ongoing lifecycle support.

Founded in 1947, Boundary Electric is a trusted supplier of power, padmount, polemount, and dry‑type transformers, as well as high‑voltage circuit breakers. Boundary is supported by in‑region quality control, North American factory acceptance testing, and transformer reconditioning and repair services.

Together, we support customers across the data centre, utility and grid modernization, renewable energy, mining, oil and gas, and heavy industrial sectors throughout Canada and the United States.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an Account Executive to develop new business opportunities, expand existing customer relationships, and advance qualified opportunities across the combined SABRE and Boundary Electric portfolio.

In this role, you will manage opportunities from initial engagement and qualification through quotation, negotiation, and award. Working closely with our estimating, engineering, applications, and operations teams, you will help deliver solutions that align with customer needs and business objectives.

This position is ideal for a technically credible business developer who enjoys creating opportunities rather than waiting for inbound leads. While engineering expertise is not required, you should possess sufficient electrical industry knowledge to understand customer requirements, identify opportunities, and engage the appropriate technical resources when needed.

Who We're Looking For
  • Extreme Ownership: Takes accountability for customer relationships, pipeline growth, commitments, and results.
  • Continuous Improvement: Seeks opportunities to improve sales performance, customer engagement, and personal effectiveness.
  • Collaborative Team Player: Works effectively across sales, engineering, operations, and project teams to deliver successful outcomes.
  • Builds Trust: Develops strong, lasting relationships through integrity, responsiveness, transparency, and consistent follow‑through.
What You'll Do
Business Development
  • Develop and grow net‑new enterprise accounts and business opportunities.
  • Prospect, qualify, and advance opportunities within assigned accounts and target markets.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with end users, EPCs, engineering firms, developers, contractors, and other key industry stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline aligned with company growth objectives.
  • Participate in customer meetings, site visits, industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events.

Opportunity and Account Management
  • Manage opportunities through the full sales cycle, from qualification to award.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop proposals, quotations, and commercial strategies that meet customer requirements.
  • Build relationships across customer organizations, including procurement, operations, engineering, commercial, and executive stakeholders.
  • Retain, service, and grow existing accounts through ongoing engagement and business development.
  • Identify opportunities to cross‑sell products and services across the combined SABRE and Boundary Electric portfolio.

Cross-Functional Execution and CRM
  • Coordinate with estimating, applications, engineering, operations, and project teams to develop customer-focused solutions.
  • Maintain accurate customer, pipeline, activity, forecasting, and opportunity data within the CRM.
  • Clearly communicate customer requirements, priorities, and commercial considerations throughout the sales process.
What You'll Bring
Required Qualifications

  • Proven ability to independently prospect, develop new accounts, and generate qualified opportunities.
  • Experience managing technical, project-based, or high-value sales opportunities.
  • Strong relationship‑building, presentation, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to engage effectively with procurement, engineering, commercial, and executive‑level stakeholders.
  • Strong CRM discipline and experience managing a sales pipeline.
  • Ability and willingness to travel as required.
