Job summary

Dexterra Group in Canada is seeking an Account Director to lead a dedicated Housekeeping team and oversee high-quality custodial services across a dynamic environment, acting as the primary client contact and driving service delivery, budgets, and safety compliance.

You will partner with stakeholders, manage on-site teams, recruit and mentor staff, and steer performance to ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for faculty, staff, and visitors while advancing your leadership career with

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of management experience in facility services.
• Experience in housekeeping at hotels or camps.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and related software.
• Ability to use handheld computer technology on site.
• Experience recruiting, training, and managing staff performance.
• Strong client communication and relationship-building skills.
• Familiarity with health, safety and environmental management systems.
• Clear criminal record is required.

WHAT’S THE JOB?

Account Director, you will lead a dedicated Housekeeping team and oversee the delivery of high-quality custodial services across a dynamic environment. Serving as the primary point of contact for the client, you will be responsible for ensuring exceptional service delivery, managing budgets, maintaining health and safety compliance, and driving operational excellence. By fostering strong partnerships with stakeholders and leading a diverse workforce, you will play a key role in creating a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for the faculty, staff, and visitors—while advancing your leadership career with Dexterra.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead revenue growth and ensure profitability for assigned accounts
• Build and maintain strong client relationships through excellent service delivery
• Provide strategic and operational leadership across a portfolio of commercial janitorial contracts within government and public sector environments.
• Manage, mentor, and inspire on-site teams to achieve performance goals
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities to drive account growth
• Conduct regular site visits and quality audits to ensure adherence to service and compliance standards.
• Oversee resource planning, scheduling, and workforce optimization
• Recruit, onboard, and train team members to support operational success
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and quality assurance protocols
• Drive client satisfaction and long-term account retention

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of management experience and directing a team in facility services or related field
• Experience in housekeeping at hotels or camps
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and other software applications
• Ability to effectively use hand-held computer technology
• Proven experience in recruiting, training, retaining and managing employee performance, including progressive discipline
• Strong communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with clients at all levels
• Ability to maintain excellent relations with People – employees, client and customers
• Familiar with health, safety and environmental management systems
• A clear criminal record check is required for this role.
