A leading university is seeking an Academic Manager for Continuing Teacher Education. This role involves overseeing course development, managing budgets, and collaborating with senior leadership. The ideal candidate will have extensive project management experience and a strong educational background, fostering innovation and growth within the team.
Reporting to the Director, CTE and Professional Studies, the Academic Manager is responsible for the overall daily operational support and budget accountability for the Continuing Teacher Education course development team. The incumbent directs and supervises all course development related work and is responsible for managing data collection, analysis, and reporting, troubleshooting, and cyclical review.
In consultation with the senior leadership team, the Academic Manager analyzes current enrolment trends and market demand to determine new courses for development, courses to discontinue, and courses to update. The incumbent will be a primary point of contact when liaising with regulatory bodies, including the Ontario College of Teachers, Teacher Qualification Service (BC), and the Saskatchewan Professional Teachers Regulatory Board.
The incumbent champions and leads transformational change that promotes growth of the unit and the course development staff while fostering an environment that encourages creativity and innovation. The Academic Manager works collaboratively with the Registration Manager to build a diverse team environment that values individual strengths, differences, and perspectives, fostering a dynamic and innovative environment.
Working with the Director, CTE and Professional Studies, and the Executive Director, Strategy & Global Engagement, the incumbent frequently interacts with senior administrators across faculties and other units to facilitate effective communication and develop strategic linkages to advance Queen’s Continuing Teacher Education. Occasionally, travel may be required to represent and act on behalf of the Director or Executive Director.
