Responsibilities

• Meeting with students one‑on‑one to assess and identify areas in need of improvement in relation to academic success.
• Develop and deliver individualized learning plans for students with a broad range of disabilities based on each student’s unique needs and learning style.
• Work in collaboration with tutors, instructors, and other staff as appropriate, providing training and support for students with specific learning differences.
• Support and enhance each student’s personal and academic success.
• Serve as a resource to the College on matters related to learning strategies for students with learning differences.
• Assist with special events and other services offered through the department.
• Assist with additional tasks and special projects as assigned to support the operation of the department.

Qualifications

• University degree in Occupational Therapy, Social Work, Psychology, Adult Education, or a related qualification.
• Minimum two years in a secondary or post‑secondary educational setting, working directly with students in the planning and provision of educational supports to students with special needs.
• Proven experience providing learning strategies to students within a diverse population.
• Proven ability to provide solution‑focused interventions.
