Job summary

Algonquin College of Applied Arts and Technology is seeking an academic leader to manage the Information & Communications Technology – Security, Systems & Networking department. The Chair will guide faculty, staff and students and ensure the department’s programs align with strategic goals and community needs.

The role requires a Master’s degree and extensive experience in computing/IT, with strong leadership, budgeting and curriculum development skills, and will involve on-site work at the

• Education: Master's degree in a related field required; minimum of four-year degree in Computing Science, Information Systems or related field.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic leadership in the management and administration of faculty, support staff and students in the Information & Communications Technology – Security, Systems & Networking department.
• Plan, develop, deliver and ensure financial viability of the department's full-time post-secondary courses.
• Ensure programs/courses are relevant to student and community needs in line with the College’s Strategic Plan.
• Provide service courses in IT/Computing technology.
