Job summary

Monarch House seeks a part-time supervised instructor therapist to implement ABA-based treatment plans for children and youth with ASD and developmental needs in Ontario. You will work 1:1 or in small groups, documenting progress, and collaborating with BCBA supervision to adapt programs daily.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA), Early Childhood Education (ECE), Educational Assistant (EA), Child and Youth Care, or another related field.
• Experience working with groups of children in classroom, childcare, camp, therapeutic, or educational setting.
• Passion for creating engaging, play-based learning opportunities through crafts, songs, games, movement activities, and structured academic programming.
• Experience supporting development of communication, social, play, self-regulation, and school readiness skills.
• Ability to plan, prepare, and adapt activities to meet diverse learning and behavioural needs of children.
• Strong classroom management skills with the ability to foster a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment.
• Flexible and adaptable to shifting clinical and operational priorities.
• Supports direct client programming and indirect classroom/clinic responsibilities (materials preparation, classroom organization, data collection, documentation).
• Demonstrates accountability, reliability, and follow-through in independent and team settings.
• Experience implementing ABA principles and behaviour support strategies; supervision by a BCBA considered an asset

Responsibilities

• Responsible for implementing treatment plans based on best practices.
• Uses systematic methods and behavioural strategies to support client in changing their behaviour.
• Contributes to development of ABA programs established by the BCBA to teach and reinforce skills for children and youth in 1:1 or small group settings.
• Understand the functions of behavior and respond appropriately and safely when situations arise.
• Adhere to all ABA training, procedures and protocols.
• Adapt to changing conditions and provide creative solutions.
• Create a positive and engaging environment for the client.
• Maintain the well-being and safety of the client while under care.
• Track client progress through data collection and graphing; keep clients engaged.
• Assist in conducting baseline measurements and other indirect measures as instructed by Lead Therapist/BCaBA/BCBA.
• Complete incident reports in Microsoft Teams within 24 hours of an incident.
• Prepare teaching materials and organize teaching environment.
• Document exceptional circumstances, complete ABC logs, and track multiple behaviours.
• Organize and maintain program binders per client with documentation, data, and files.
• Maintain workspace organization and cleanliness.
• Support clients with personal care tasks (dressing, toileting, eating).
• Complete indirect work under clinician direction within time and framework.
