Job summary

Astra-North Infoteck Inc. in Brampton, ON is seeking a Wireless Network Engineer to manage packet core for 5G/LTE/3G networks in a hybrid environment.

You will design, implement, test, and operate core network functions, including 5GC and EPC components, and support coordination across cloud/virtualization tools and automation initiatives. You will troubleshoot advanced network faults, perform KPI reporting, and drive changes through formal change control while collaborating with engineering

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Networking or Technology required.
• 5+ years experience in a Service Provider environment preferred.
• Knowledge of data analytics and log parsing using tools like Splunk, Grafana is an asset.
• Strong problem solving, communication and ownership mindset.
• Networking fundamentals including routers/switches, routing, subnetting and protocols.
• In-depth TCP/IP knowledge including OSPF/ISIS/BGP/EIGRP/MPLS/MPLS VPN and Multicast.
• Experience with Nokia service router platforms and TiMOS OS is a plus.
• Experience with Nokia 7360 XGS-PON or other vendor OLT solutions is a plus.
• Security and DDoS mitigation knowledge.
• Lean-Six Sigma is an asset.
• Ability to work well in a team and coordinate resolutions.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Subject matter expert for wireless packet core with 5G/LTE/3G experience.
• Support design, instantiation, integration, and validation of core docs and testing for packet core platforms.
• Maintain and troubleshoot packet core nodes and data services.
• Utilize cloud/virtualization tools to automate workflows and lifecycle management.
• Provide top-tier fault identification, analysis, and resolution for IP and access networks.
• Engage in performance/fault analysis and develop testing strategies.
• Coordinate changes via change control processes and review procedures.
• Maintain design and support documentation; implement automation across NOC tools.
