About The Opportunity

Under the direction of the Chief Engineer/Assistant Manager, the successful applicant will be responsible for the operation of the district's boilers and associated systems and equipment. Troubleshoots, maintains, and repairs equipment and systems as directed by their supervisor. Shift work is required. Equipment may include hospital clinical equipment as well as knowledge of plumbing, basic electricity, and carpentry. Grounds work such as mowing, upkeep, and winter snow removal is also required.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Fourth Class Standardized Power Engineers certificate from the NS Department of Labour and Advanced Education
  • Five years’ experience preferred, after obtaining Fourth Class certificate in operation and maintenance of a high-pressure steam plant.
  • If the above is not available, we will consider two years' experience after obtaining Fourth Class certificate in operation and maintenance of a high-pressure steam plant.
  • Must be able to work independently
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
