About the role:

Reporting to the Plant Maintenance Supervisor, the Power Engineer is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of steam boilers in our plant environment.

This is a full-time hourly position offering an attractive 4 on, 4 off schedule consisting of day shifts.

The position is site-based at our operations in the Elk Valley, and the ability to reliably commute to or relocate near Sparwood, B.C is necessary.

In this role you will:

Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies
Monitoring, operating and maintaining steam boilers and associated equipment
Rebuilding pumps, changing fan motors, performing pump alignments and other repairs
Other duties on site as required include filling in as a serviceperson, Lubeperson or Shop Helper
Candidates with a Red Seal certification will have their skills utilized in other duties related to their trade as needed
In certain components of this role it is mandatory to wear a respirator which requires an interference free seal

Requirements:

High School Diploma or equivalent
Valid 4th class Power Engineering certification or higher
Valid class 5 driver’s license, or equivalent, without learner’s restrictions
Red Seal trade certification in Millwright, Pipefitter/Steamfitter, or Welder would be considered an asset

Hourly Wage: $45.52
Base earnings reflected in salary range includes the hourly wage plus applicable shift premiums and will differ depending on location. It is calculated using a reasonably expected number of hours worked per year.
