Job summary

St. Michael's Health Centre is seeking a 4th Class Power Engineer to monitor and operate boilers, HVAC and BMS systems in a hospital setting. The role includes performing maintenance and repairs to ensure safe, efficient facility operations and adherence to ABSA standards.

The position is casual/relief with shifts including days, weekends and on-call, and requires a 4th Class Power Engineer certificate. CMMS/BCMS experience is preferred.

Job description

Your Opportunity:

This position performs duties requiring a 4th Class Power Engineer certificate, including the operation and monitoring of boilers, heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems (HVAC) and building management systems (BMS), in accordance with the standards required by the Alberta Boiler Safety Association (ABSA and Covenant Health (COV. This position is also required to perform a wide variety of general maintenance and repair duties which contribute to safe and efficient facility operations. This includes plumbing, electrical, structural repairs, equipment servicing, etc.

Description:

The Power Engineer 4th Class is responsible for assisting with monitoring, repairs and maintenance of plant operations in accordance with Alberta Health Services and Alberta Boiler Safety Association (ABSA) standards and practices. This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the CUPE 408 St. Michael's Collective Agreement.

Preferred Qualifications

Minimum two years’ experience in a hospital or long-term care facility environment.Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS/eFacilities) and building control systems (BCMS/BAS).
