Job summary

Gateway Casinos is seeking a Third Cook for a part-time role in Ontario. Join a major national company and benefit from an excellent package and competitive salary for full-time staff, with opportunities to grow.

You will prepare and present food to standards, maintain a clean workspace, and support inventory and safety procedures in a busy kitchen. The position requires a secondary school diploma or 1 year of related experience, knife handling skills, and the ability to obtain Category 2 Gaming

Qualifications

• Minimum of a secondary school diploma or equivalent.
• Safe food handling course and knife handling skills are required.
• Ability to obtain registration as a Category 2 Gaming Assistant with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario.
• Proven high level of customer service and ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Responsibilities

• Proper preparation and presentation of food with strict adherence to food safety standards.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary and organized work space in compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Assist with inventory and placing orders.
• Perform all duties in a safe and responsible manner; adhere to quality standards.
• Contribute to a cooperative team environment and support other staff as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Proper preparation and presentation of food with strict adherence to food safety standards.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary and organized work space in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and the requirements of the Board of Health
• Assist with inventory and putting orders away
• Perform all job duties in a safe and responsible manner
• Adhere to departmental quality standards
• Perform other related duties as assigned

What You Bring

• A secondary school diploma or a minimum of one-year related work experience
• Safe food handling course, knife handling skills
• The ability to obtain registration as a Category 2 Gaming Assistant with the Alcohol and Gaming and Commission of Ontario
• Proven high level of Customer Service
• The ability to work and excel in a fast-paced large volume business
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to work in hot, cold and humid environments
