PTW Energy Services seeks Journeyman Electricians and Apprentices (3rd and 4th Year) to join a 9-day shutdown near High Prairie, AB. Duration: Sept 27–Oct 5, 2026. This is a fast-paced industrial setting with overtime opportunities while supporting critical shutdown work.

Candidates must drive to site; the role offers travel allowance and LOA, and experience with mill shutdowns is a strong asset. Safety, reliability, and teamwork are essential in this engagement.

Qualifications

• Valid Apprenticeship or Journeyperson Electrician Certificate.
• Minimum of 3 years in industrial electrical construction with mill experience.
• Fall Protection, Standard First Aid, AWP/EMP, CSO, ESTS valid.
• Strong knowledge of Canadian Electrical Code and OH&S requirements.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.
• Proficient with hand tools, testing devices, and electrical equipment.
• Valid driver's license and ability to drive to site.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical systems, equipment, and components.
• Interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
• Ensure all work complies with electrical codes, safety regulations, and policies.
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance.
• Test electrical systems using appropriate tools and equipment.
• Collaborate with other trades and contractors on site.
• Complete required documentation, work orders, and reports.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean, safe work environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Role Summary

PTW is looking for Journeyman Electricians and Apprentices 3rd and 4th Year to join an 9-day Shutdown near High Prairie, AB.

Duration: SEPT 27 - OCT 5 2026

This is a great opportunity to earn overtime in a fast-paced industrial environment while supporting critical shutdown work.

• 9 straight days of work


• 8 regular hours + 4 OT hours daily


• Travel allowance provided - $250


• LOA included- $220


• Industrial construction and maintenance experience required


• Mill shutdown experience considered a strong asset

Important: Candidates must be able to drive to site. No flights provided.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical systems, equipment, and components.

Rates

• Journeyperson Electrician: $45.00 - $55.00/hr


• 4th Year Electrical Apprentice: $36.00 - $46.75/hr


• 3rd Year Electrical Apprentice: $31.50 - $38.50/hr


• Overtime opportunities paid at 1.5x the regular hourly rate
