Role Overview

The Character Modeler is responsible for conceptualizing and creating complex CG (3D) models in line with the artistic, creative, and technical standards of the production. This role involves using modeling software suited to the production's needs, guiding the modeling team, and collaborating with rigging artists to ensure models are production-ready.

What You’ll Be Doing

1. Create high-quality 3D models that meet artistic and technical standards.
2. Develop clean and efficient topology for models, considering rigging and animation requirements to ensure smooth deformation and performance.
3. Handle modeling tasks, including organic and hard-surface modeling, blend shapes (if applicable), and translating 2D concepts into 3D models.
4. Interpret and incorporate feedback from leads, supervisors, and directors.

What You’ll Bring

• Previous experience as a Character Modeler in high-quality television animation.
• Proficiency with Maya, ZBrush, Blender, and rendering software.
• Excellent communication, organization, and people management skills.
• Willingness to learn new software and technologies relevant to animation and digital production.

Additional Details

Pay Range: CAD $1200 - $1600 per week

This salary range reflects current expectations. Final salary will consider education, experience, skills, location, and business needs.

Work Environment
