First Student, the largest provider of student transportation in North America, is hiring a Licensed 310T or 310S Mechanic! As a Mechanic, you will maintain and repair school buses to ensure safety and vehicle readiness, while guiding Apprentice Mechanics.

Responsibilities:
  1. Diagnose and repair vehicle systems including brakes, engines, suspensions, and transmissions with minimal supervision.
  2. Overhaul and reinstall mechanical components.
  3. Lead preventive maintenance, safety inspections, and annual checks.
  4. Complete work orders accurately, maintaining detailed records.
  5. Report unsafe equipment and take corrective actions.
  6. Evaluate work quality and seek approvals as needed.
  7. Lead road calls and emergency services when required.
  8. Follow company standards, policies, and procedures.
  9. Safely move vehicles within work areas.
  10. Participate in ASE certification programs; training, testing, and bonuses provided.
Qualifications:
  • Valid Mechanic license (310T or 310S)
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Appropriate mechanic’s tool set
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Ability to work independently and in teams
  • Willingness to work assigned shifts
