Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. is seeking a skilled diesel mechanic in Bracebridge, Ontario, to diagnose and repair heavy‑duty diesel trucks and equipment.

The role covers diesel, CNG, gasoline, and electric systems, with emphasis on safety and accuracy in completing work orders and maintenance tasks. The successful candidate will hold at least 1 year of diesel experience, a 310T license, and solid computer literacy.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a diesel mechanic.
• 310T Truck & Coach Technician license.
• Experience with diagnostic software is an asset.
• Strong computer literacy and willingness to learn new programs.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair operational issues on heavy‑duty diesel trucks and equipment.
• Perform maintenance and repairs on diesel, CNG, gasoline, and electric‑powered equipment and vehicles.
• Complete work orders, repair reports, and parts requests; perform required administrative tasks daily.
• Plan and schedule repairs using the M5 planner and procure required parts to execute the plan.
• Review mechanical write‑ups and coordinate repair schedules with operations.
• Ensure all work is completed in a safe manner and in compliance with company and regulatory safety requirements.
• Use a variety of hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
• Maintain and provide the necessary tools to perform all required maintenance and repair tasks.
• Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.
• Follow all company policies, procedures, and applicable federal/provincial regulations.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
