A Penske Technician I diagnoses, overhauls, adjusts, and repairs motor truck and trailer equipment with minimal supervision. Additional projects may be assigned by the supervisor.

Major Responsibilities
  • Perform preventive maintenance
  • Identify and document repairs
  • Maintain safety and work area appearance
  • Road test vehicles for diagnostics
  • Use hand and power tools effectively
  • Inspect and repair brake systems, steering, and other components
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks
  • Adjust, replace, and reassemble parts
  • Raise heavy equipment safely
  • Diagnose malfunctions using test instruments
  • Ensure safety guards and specifications are met
  • Specialize in major component repairs (engines, transmissions, differentials)
Qualifications
  • 5+ years tractor trailer maintenance experience
  • Respective Provincial License (e.g., Red Seal/310T)
  • Membership with relevant government agencies
  • Class D or 3 driver’s license with air brake certification or ability to obtain within 6 months
  • Proficiency with diagnostic and hand tools
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to work in non-climate-controlled conditions
  • OEM training and troubleshooting experience preferred
  • Reliable attendance and willingness to travel as needed
Physical Requirements
  • Lift/move up to 45kg with accommodations
  • Visual and physical capabilities as described
