Job description

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Diagnoses malfunctions and performs vehicle repairs (e.g., adjust/test steering, electrical, cooling, lubricating, braking systems, drive trains, suspensions, power steering units, clutches, transmissions, oil, temperature, gas regulating components, engine rebuilds, etc.) in accordance with all relevant guidelines and requirements. Test-drives vehicles to ensure repairs resolve the problem.
• Arranges for and obtains inspections and approvals for all major repairs before releasing vehicles from the maintenance facility.
• Maintains a safe, clean, and efficient work area, ensuring compliance with all relevant guidelines and requirements.
• Identifies and reports additional necessary maintenance or repairs, including those requiring higher qualification levels.
• Records time, parts used, and repairs conducted on appropriate forms.
• Advises Lead Technician of unsafe conditions or vehicle abuse.
• Performs road calls and on-the-road repairs as assigned.
• Exhibits high ethical standards and personal integrity; reports suspicious or inappropriate behavior to supervisors.
