Job summary

Kal Tire in Thunder Bay, ON is seeking a 310S Licensed Automotive Service Technician to join a dealership-level shop. You’ll service all vehicle brands, performing routine maintenance to complex diagnostics, with proficiency in diesel systems, electricals, transmissions, and engine work.

You will mentor apprentices, contribute to building our mechanical program, and work with a skilled team on a variety of vehicles from cars to light trucks.

Qualifications

• Certified Automotive Service Technician 310S or licensed mechanic.
• Valid driver’s license.
• At least 3 years hands-on experience in brakes, shocks, and wheel alignment.
• Skilled in inspections, diagnostics, adjustments, service and repair on various vehicles.
• Strong attention to detail with a methodical approach.
• Motivated, positive attitude, respectful work environment, and develop team members.
• Safety-conscious and compliant with PPE and protocols.

Responsibilities

• Perform a wide range of general mechanical services, including brake and suspension repairs, engine diagnostics, and routine maintenance.
• Mentor and coach apprentices, sharing expertise and helping develop their skills in a learning-focused environment.
• Collaborate with a highly skilled team, working on vehicles from standard passenger cars to light trucks.
• Assist in identifying potential mechanical opportunities with the Sales team.
• Ensure the highest standards of safety and quality are maintained.

  vehicles.
• Excellent attention to detail with a methodical approach to problem-solving.

  members in a positive atmosphere.
• Being safety conscious is of utmost importance - always wear required PPE and
  follow instructed work protocols.
