Job summary

Modine is seeking a motivated Journeyman Welder to join our Calgary manufacturing team on the Afternoon shift. You will perform GTAW/TIG welding on light gauge materials and contribute to a fast-paced environment while growing your skills.

You will read and interpret blueprints, follow procedures to ensure weld quality, and collaborate with teammates to meet production targets. Willingness to work overtime and lift up to 50 lbs is required.

Qualifications

• GTAW (TIG) welding experience; FCAW/GMAW exposure is an asset.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings with supervision as needed.
• Basic knowledge of equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Willingness to work overtime on weekdays/weekends.
• Proven attention to detail and quick learner in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with GTAW/TIG welding on light gauge steel, aluminum, and stainless steel.
• Support FCAW and GMAW welding operations as needed.
• Read and interpret basic blueprints, drawings, and welding specs.
• Follow procedures to ensure weld quality meets standards.
• Assist with preventative maintenance of welding equipment.
• Inspect welds for accuracy, strength, and consistency.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.
• Collaborate with team to meet production targets.
• Develop welding skills under supervision of Journeyman welders.

Position Description

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Journeyman Welder to join our team on either the Afternoon shift. In this role, you will support the fabrication team by performing GTAW (TIG) welding on light gauge materials, while continuing to develop your skills in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with and perform GTAW (TIG) welding on light gauge steel, aluminum, and stainless steel
• Support FCAW and GMAW welding operations as required
• Read and interpret basic blueprints, drawings, and welding specifications
• Follow established procedures to ensure weld quality meets required standards
• Assist with preventative maintenance of welding equipment
• Inspect welds with guidance to ensure accuracy, strength, and consistency
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
• Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors to meet production targets
• Continuously develop welding skills under the guidance of Journeyman welders

Required Education & Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with GTAW (TIG) welding; exposure to FCAW and GMAW is an asset
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings (with supervision as needed)
• Basic knowledge of equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Willingness to work overtime (weekdays/weekends) as required
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Experience operating shears and press brakes is considered an asset
