Job summary

ARAMARK Remote Workplace Services seeks a 2nd Cook for a remote lodge near Thunder Bay, Ontario. You will coordinate and manage breakfast production, follow Chef-approved methods, and ensure safe handling of food and equipment to meet standards.

The role demands accuracy with recipes, proper sanitation, and a proactive attitude to support guest meals and service excellence. Travel and site logistics are part of daily routines, with a strong emphasis on safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Experience as a cook or in a related role required.
• Knowledge of basic food preparation methods and food safety regulations.
• Must be able to acquire food safety certification.
• Demonstrate basic math and counting skills.
• Interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Cook and prepare a variety of foods according to production guidelines and recipes.
• Set up workstation with needed ingredients and equipment.
• Prepare ingredients by measuring, weighing, chopping, trimming, and peeling.
• Safely use knives and operate ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers, etc.
• Bake, roast, broil, steam and employ various cooking methods.
• Portion and plate food according to guidelines; store food safely.
• Maintain clean, sanitized work areas and equipment; provide friendly service.

ARAMARK Remote Workplace Services are hiring a 2nd Cook for a remote lodge near Thunder Bay, Ontario. Responsibilites will be to coordinate and be responsible for the handling, preparation, production, and timely service of all breakfast meals in accordance with methods and standards approved by the Chef. The 2nd Cook is responsible for cooking and preparing food according to recipes and production guidelines while adhering to food safety, food handling, and sanitation procedures. The 2nd Cook should safely handle knives and equipment such as grills, fryers, ovens, broilers, etc.

Job Responsibilities

• Essential functions and responsibilities of the position may vary by Aramark location based on client requirements and business needs.
• Cooks and prepare a variety of food according to production guidelines and standardized recipes
• Sets up workstation with all needed ingredients and equipment
• Prepares ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling food items
• Safely uses a variety of utensils including knives
• Operates equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers, etc.
• Bakes, roasts, broils, steams, and uses a variety of cooking methods on meat, vegetables, and other foods
• Arranges, garnishes, and portions food according to established guidelines
• Properly stores food by adhering to food safety policies and procedures
• Cleans and sanitizes work areas, equipment, and utensils
• Maintains excellent customer service and positive demeanor towards guests, customers, clients, co-workers, etc.
• Adheres to Aramark safety policies and procedures including accurate food safety and sanitation
• Ensures security of company assets
