AV Group NB Inc. Nackawic Mill is currently recruiting for the following position: 2nd Class Power Engineer - Relief Steam and Recovery Tour Supervisor.

Role Overview

Reporting to the Chief Power Engineer, the successful candidate will be responsible for the safe operations and maintenance activities in power & recovery, and recaust to achieve maximum production while meeting health & safety, environment, cost and quality objectives in compliance with corporate principles & guidelines.

Responsibilities

1. Ensure optimum performance of the steam and recovery and recaust areas on a daily basis by overseeing production and maintenance activities.
2. Frequently monitor and review quality parameters.
3. Involve technical resources when troubleshooting cannot be done.
4. Inform department superintendent of potential major production/cost/quality problems and propose solutions.
5. Ensure proper use of resources to minimize overtime.
6. Conduct safety audits and crew meetings.

Qualifications

1. 2nd class power engineer license (SOPEC Required).
2. Supervisory experience required.
3. Previous pulp and paper experience considered an asset.
4. Flexible and able to adjust to changing priorities.
5. Experience working in a unionized environment would be considered an asset.
