Located in Nackawic, New Brunswick, near the Saint John River Valley, our mill specializes in pre-hydrolysis kraft pulp production. Part of the Aditya Birla Group, a Fortune 500 company with over 140,000 employees worldwide, we produce dissolving grade pulp for the textile industry, following a Forestry to Fashion business model.

Job Summary: Reporting to the Chief Power Engineer, the successful candidate will oversee the safe operation and maintenance of power & recovery, and recaust areas to maximize production while ensuring safety, environmental compliance, and meeting quality and cost objectives.

Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure optimal performance of steam, recovery, and recaust areas through supervision of production and maintenance.
  2. Monitor and review quality parameters regularly.
  3. Engage technical resources for troubleshooting when necessary.
  4. Notify the department superintendent of major issues and suggest solutions.
  5. Manage resources efficiently to minimize overtime.
  6. Conduct safety audits and crew meetings.

Qualifications:

  • Valid 2nd Class Power Engineer license (SOPEC required).
  • Supervisory experience is mandatory.
  • Experience in pulp and paper industry is an asset.
  • Adaptable to changing priorities.
  • Experience in a unionized environment is an asset.
