Job summary

K+S Potash Canada (KSPC) seeks a 2nd Class Power Engineer to operate boilers, turbines, HRSGs and site utilities at the Bethune mine site in Saskatchewan. You will lead startups, document data in SAP, and uphold strong safety and operating discipline in a high‑risk, high‑reliability environment.

You will contribute to the startup and optimization of a state‑of‑the‑art cogeneration facility under construction, gaining hands‑on energy technology experience while supporting a major company project.

Qualifications

• Valid 2nd Class Power Engineer’s Certificate (Saskatchewan or Interprovincial).
• Solid operational experience in large-scale industrial facilities.
• Ability to read P&IDs, interpret control system data, and write technical logs and reports.
• Strong diagnostic, troubleshooting and situational awareness skills.
• Team-first attitude with safety leadership and operational discipline.
• Adaptability and initiative in a dynamic, high-performance team.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor boilers, gas turbine generators, HRSG, tank farm and plant utilities to ensure safe, stable, and optimized performance.
• Troubleshoot process upsets, identify root causes, and return systems to normal operation.
• Lead and support plant start-ups, shutdowns, equipment isolations, and handovers with precision.
• Use SAP and digital tools to document data, initiate maintenance work orders, and keep records.
• Collaborate with other teams to ensure safe, reliable plant performance.
• Conduct regular equipment inspections and contribute to maintenance planning.
• Maintain safety culture with lockout/tagout, permits, and environmental controls.
• Uphold operating discipline via SOPs, work instructions and lockout protocols.
