Job summary

SurveyMonkey in Ontario is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Oncology department on a regular part-time basis. The role focuses on cancer symptom management and coordinating patient care in a fast-paced clinical setting.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• 2 years (recent) experience as the primary nurse in an oncology clinic.
• Chemotherapy & biotherapy certification preferred; willing to complete.
• Chemotherapy infusion training required.
• IV venipuncture and central venous access device care certification.
• Knowledge of cancer care services.
• Excellent computer skills; BCLS.
• Oncology Nursing Certificate (CON-C) preferred.
• Satisfactory attendance.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge, Skill and Experience)

• Registered Nurse, currently registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• BScN preferred, or education and experience that allows the RN to practice at full scope
• 2 years (recent) experience working as the primary nurse in an oncology clinic with demonstrated competence in cancer symptom management and nursing management of oncological emergencies.
• De Souza Foundations in Oncology Nursing Practice and Provincial Standard Chemotherapy & Biotherapy Certified Oncology Nurse preferred (must be willing to complete and maintain certification).
• Chemotherapy Infusion Training Course through LHSC Cancer Program required.
• Demonstrated competency in administration of chemotherapy and safe handling of cytotoxic agents within the last two years preferred.
• Certified in the initiation of intravenous lines by venipuncture/care of central venous access devices.
• Certified in fibrinolytic therapy for central venous access device occlusions and removal of peripherally inserted central catheters.
• C.V.A.A. (C) Canadian Vascular Access Association Certification preferred.
• Demonstrated clinical expertise with Central Venous Access Devices.
• Knowledge of Cancer Care services and system.
• Excellent Computer Skills
