Job summary

School District #91 (Nechako Lakes) is seeking a Relief Learning Support Worker for Mouse Mountain Elementary. The role is 5 hours per day, 5 days per week, starting ASAP until the regular employee returns.

The successful candidate will support teachers, assist in delivering programs, and advocate for students within the school-based team. Prior experience with children/youth with disabilities is preferred.

Qualifications

• Completion of Grade 12 (Dogwood Certificate).
• Completion of an Education Assistant Certificate program.
• 6 months of experience working with children/youth who have intellectual/behavioral or multiple disabilities.
• WHMIS 2015 Certificate and familiarity with WorkSafeBC safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Works with school and district staff to foster and develop the individual student's potential under the direction of the teacher and other related professionals.
• Provides assistance to teachers and other professionals in the delivery of regular or alternate programs with a group or individual students.
• Functions as an advocate for the students and as a member of the school-based team where required.

**Please note, the rate of pay above is based on a Certified Learning Support Worker. Should you not have the required qualifications, you will be paid at the Uncertified Learning Support Worker rate ($26.72).**
