Job summary

Morson Human Resources Limited seeks an experienced Project Controls Officer in Pickering, ON for a 24-month on-site contract. The role focuses on advanced Excel, VBA, Power BI development, and project controls including cost and scheduling reporting.

The candidate will optimize legacy spreadsheets, ensure data integrity, and support stakeholders with robust analytics. Responsibilities include maintaining dashboards and reporting tools, integrating ERP/finance data, and upholding change control

Qualifications

• Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Advanced knowledge of VBA, Power Query, Power Pivot, Pivot Tables, complex formulas, and spreadsheet automation.
• Strong experience developing and maintaining Power BI dashboards, reports, semantic models, and DAX calculations.
• Ability to reverse-engineer, maintain, and enhance highly complex existing spreadsheets and reporting tools.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience integrating data from ERP, scheduling, financial, project controls, or enterprise systems.
• Excellent documentation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain complex Excel workbooks, dashboards, and analytical tools for planning, reporting, and decision-making.
• Analyze existing spreadsheet architectures, formulas, macros, data connections, and reporting processes to avoid disruption.
• Overhaul and modernize legacy Excel workbooks while preserving critical business logic and data integrity.
• Maintain and troubleshoot Excel solutions, including formulas, VBA, data validation, and automated reporting.
• Develop advanced Excel solutions using complex formulas, Power Query, Power Pivot, dynamic arrays, pivot tables, VBA, and automation techniques.
• Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, semantic models, and DAX calculations.
• Perform project controls activities by developing and maintaining project schedules, cost forecasts, and performance reports.
• Maintain project cost and schedule information across all phases, reconciling data across systems.

Job Overview:

MS Excel & Power BI:

• Design, develop, and maintain complex Microsoft Excel workbooks, worksheets, dashboards, and analytical tools to support business planning, reporting, and decision-making.
