The salary scale for Professional Support 2 ranges from $64,783.04 to $86,126.92 annually. New employees may receive up to seven steps based on relevant experience, up to $75,439.19.

Responsibilities
The Provincial Coordinator will play a key role in advancing mental health and wellness of post-secondary students across Nova Scotia by coordinating activities under the HealthyMindsNS (HMNS) Campus Wellbeing Initiative, which aims to:
- Increase mental health literacy, awareness of resources, decrease stigma, and promote help-seeking
- Create healthy campus cultures that promote wellbeing, equity, diversity, and inclusion; enhance resilience; and build student competencies in wellness advocacy and peer leadership
This initiative aligns with provincial priorities, the Okanagan Charter, and the National Standard for Mental Health and Well-Being for Post-Secondary Students.
The candidate will work closely with the Provincial HMNS Committee, Department of Advanced Education, program leads from post-secondary institutions, and student organizations. Key responsibilities include:
- Oversee program implementation, ensuring alignment with best practices and student needs.
- Review and update program materials; develop and deliver training for student wellness champions.
- Establish and maintain relationships with key contacts at NS Department of Advanced Education, participating institutions, student groups, and the HMNS committee.
- Provide ongoing support through weekly planning and debriefing sessions with student wellness champions.
- Coordinate data collection, including the Canadian Campus Wellbeing Survey.
- Develop and implement monitoring and evaluation plans.
- Compile program reports and provide administrative support to the HMNS Committee.
Occasional travel within the province will be required.
What you'll need
Qualifications- A post-secondary degree in Health Sciences, Student Affairs, Social Work, Public Health, or Health Promotion
- Minimum three (3) years of relevant occupational experience, including project management, program coordination, preferably within education or mental health sectors
- Proficiency in digital tools and basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, Outlook)
- Experience in program development, training, facilitation, and evaluation
- Experience supporting/providing services to students
Skills and Knowledge- Commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, accessibility, and anti-racism
- Knowledge of mental health promotion strategies in post-secondary education
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
- Problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
- Experience in evaluation and data analysis
- Proficiency in project management tools and digital communication platforms
