Job summary

Ideal candidates are enrolled in a Canadian quantum computing program, possess strong communication, are self-driven, and prepared to collaborate with university partners and external vendors.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled at a Canadian post-secondary institution with a focus on Quantum Computing (Math/CS) or MScAC in Quantum Computing.
• Excellent interpersonal and highly developed communication skills (verbal and written).
• Creative and analytical thinker who is self-driven and capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong MS Office skills – Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of programming and scripting languages - Python.

Responsibilities

• Participating in experiments and theory development towards proof of concepts of financial applications of quantum technology.
• Developing algorithms, protocols, sensors, or networking techniques depending on your skill sets.
• Researching and determining successful applications for quantum technologies for finance.
• Benchmarking performance and documenting research and outcomes.
• Collaboration with external vendors and university partners on research.
• Supporting the broader Innovation team as needed.

What is the opportunity? The Quantum technologies intern will join the fast-paced, multi-disciplinary Innovation Group at RBC to explore where quantum technologies can augment finance capabilities to bring impact and advantage. We are seeking blue-sky thinkers who want to determine true applicability of their ideas in a wide variety of quantum fields to the financial sector. Those who are interested in learning about the intersection of quantum technologies with finance are encouraged to apply. This is a small, new team so self-driven candidates are a must.

What will you do?

• Participating in experiments and theory development towards proof of concepts of financial applications of quantum technology
