Job summary

Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) is seeking a Data Analyst Intern for the CLAO Shared Services Team in the CLAO Group. This 4‑month winter 2027 student placement in Toronto focuses on analytic development projects, data validation, and delivering actionable insights to support enterprise initiatives.

You will work with Tableau and Power BI, leverage MS Office tools, and engage in data extraction to meet information system needs in a fast-paced environment. Start date January 2027, end date April 2027.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled at a Canadian post-secondary institution with a focus on computer science, mathematics, statistics, commerce, or business analysis.
• Strong MS Office skills (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Experience or understanding of data visualization tools (Tableau and Power BI).

Are you interested in working as a Data Analyst Intern on the Chief Legal and Administrative Officer (CLAO) Shared Services Team in the CLAO Group at the Royal Bank of Canada?

RBC’s Chief Legal and Administrative Group (CLAO Group) is a critical function within the organization. This group integrates legal, compliance, enterprise strategy, strategic execution of enterprise initiatives, as well as procurement and supplier management, and corporate real estate. In addition, CLAO oversees enterprise controls and data governance to ensure the organization operates ethically, efficiently, and in alignment with regulatory requirements.

What will you do?

• Analyze, design, deliver, and implement analytic development projects, with the use of RBC’s analytics tools
• Assists and participates in data validation and cleaning to ensure the quality and integrity of data.
• Analyzes and extracts key data and information to meet the organization's information system needs and requirements.
• Ensure that project activities are accomplished within approved time frames, scope, and budgets
• Confirm that projects adhere to development standards and guidelines

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

• Currently enrolled at a Canadian post-secondary institution with a focus on computer science, mathematics, statistics, commerce, or business analysis
• Leadership acumen and a passion to apply it in a dynamic business environment
• Excellent interpersonal and highly developed communication skills (verbal and written)
• Creative and analytical thinker who is self-driven and capable of working in a fast paced environment
• Strong MS Office skills – Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
• Experience or understanding of data visualization tools (Tableau and Power BI)
• Ability to learn and absorb new concepts (in business and in systems) quickly and apply new knowledge.

Nice-to-have

• Prior experience in data integration of disparate data sources
• Knowledge of design, development, and implementation utilizing current analytics technologies and architecture, as well as data warehouse concepts and methodologies

Please note:

This posting is for a 4-months Winter 2027 Student placement with a start date of January 2027, and end date of April 2027. In order to be eligible for this 4-months Student position, you must either:

• Be returning back to school after the work term end-date of April 2027 ; or
• If you are not returning back to school (i.e. are graduating in April 2027), you must require the full 4-months work term as a mandatory component to in order to graduate successfully.
